Tallinn Airport Duty Free Shop was remodelled

At the beginning of June, the Polish company Baltona, the new operator of Tallinn Airport Duty Free store, turned to PR Strategy for help.

We were asked to create a concept for the opening ceremony of the new duty free store that would allow introducing the new store in the airport security zone where security regulations set very strict limitations. We were also asked to come up with a ribbon-cutting ceremony format which would allow passengers free passage through the entrance of the store and a festive reception at the landside café for 80 people.

We suggested a solution as a result of which the guests who has mostly arrived from foreign countries enjoy a lovely evening with good music and delicious food. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was organised with the help of an Estonian choreographer Märt Agu who staged a dance performance combining Estonian traditions and ancient beliefs regarding Mid-Summer night. At the end of the dance performance, the ribbon was rolled out in front of the managers of the airport and Baltona and the store was effectively opened.

Tallinn Airport Duty Free Shops have underwent an expansive reconstruction and the new shops have received their new design reflecting Estonian nature and traditions from The Design Solutions, a British design company. Next time you are exiting the gates of Estonia, take your time to enjoy the wonderful result!
